So I pulled the trigger!
I test drove a 2010 xf sc last night. Car was immaculate on the inside, 45kmi, minor dings on the bumpers (owned by an old couple) nothing major though. They purchased it as a cpo in 2011 so it's been maintained under the 100k mile warranty. I must say that thing is a beast, I had a grin from ear to ear flying down the 101 yesterday. Felt like a little kid again. Talk about love at first DRIVE. Lol.... They were asking 30 I got them down to 28 so I jumped on it. I told they're representative (old wealthy ppl) I'd take it if it passes an inspection at the local jag dealership. They agreed to have it done today. Now I got a couple questions: is there anything I should tell the dealer to look for? Is cpo warranty transferable? Do you guys think I got a good deal?? ....Heck I think I got a good deal I almost signed for a 2009 sc on Sunday for over 28 before taxes with more miles.
Have them do an inspection like the dealer is making the car available for sale as a used car, not just a maintenance inspection. I've done these in the past and split the cost with the seller just to make sure everything gets checked and you don't have any big surprises. I always tell the seller that if there is something big and I don't purchase the car, that they will need to pay for the whole thing.
Make sure all the recalls/TSB's are taken care of and make sure the water pump is not leaking. Also, go to the dealer when the car is dropped off and ask for a vehicle service history and see what has been replaced/repaired since the vehicle was new. Helps to know what to still look for ie. whether the water pump has been replaced before, whether the dash is still original, etc.
Not sure if the warranty is transferable. Hope that helps.

They are a known issue. After replacement they are usually ok. The dash glue was defective on many cars and you should notice if the dash has bubbled up near the speaker grill in the center. I had to have mine replaced and I know many others have done it or are doing it now.
Great find if it passes the inspection.
I always sit in the car and press every button I possibly can to make sure they work.
Come with two car remotes/ all informative books?
Check a/c vents when they open, see if any are sluggish/slow opening.
Take it on a test drive with some bumpy roads, some members have reported interior squeaks.
When Kyanite said to check the service history, thats a great idea, also see if the differential was worked on/replaced.
Good luck and congrats on the XF SC!

Just a thought on those dings.... I had a depression in my roof and a ding in my fender near the gas tank removed with paintless dent repair. If the paint isn't scratched most can be removed to be like new or near new. I paid $100 for each area.
Good to know. Thanks
Thank you
