Default Some help on halogen replacements....

So I have a 2011 XF with the OEM bulbs which are a little too dim for night driving. I went to have them replaced with Sylvaia H7 UltraStar, but the service advisor told me that don't fit directly into the light fixture.I checeked online and it said these will fit. Anybody have knowledge on this area? I really appreciate any feedback. I don't want to upgrade/convert to the HID bulbs, I just need something a little brighter for night driving, thanks in advance.

If your lamps have H7 bulbs, then another H7 bulb will fit without problems.

The UltraStar is a pretty good choice.

Be aware that the European versions are rumoured to be better.

Also be aware that if you use "offroad" high wattage bulbs, the silvering in the lamphousing cannot take the extra heat and will start peeling. eg. 70 watt nokya.

A 2011 XF isn't HID?

plumsauce,

Thanks for the info. Turns out I bought the H7, when I was supposed to buy the H11. My 2011 XF is base, no HID, just halogens.
