Default Supercharger question

Hi all. After having a problem with the snout on my supercharger, I purchased a new snout from jaguar and fitted a 6% pulley before fitting it onto the supercharger.
Now that it's back together it turns out it's the supercharger that's making the rattling and needs replacing (not cheap :-(.
The new supercharger comes as a complete unit, do I just leave it as is, or take the snout of the brand new unit and put the other brand new snout on with the new smaller pulley? Would this undo any balancing or mating that's been factory done?
Would like to hear what people think. Or experiences

If I don't put it on would the snout with the 6%pulley on sell on easy enough as its only been on the car for 10 minutes.
Thanks Andy

I would swap the pulley/snout onto the new unit. While doing that, install a solid isolator to keep you from having to tear it apart again in 30K miles when the stock spring fails.

Keep the new stock snout unit as a spare just in case. Or it might make since to have the old unit rebuilt and either sell to recoup costs or keep as a spare.

Forgot to mention it's the 5.0L.
Is there somewhere that will rebuild it, as I'm struggling to find anyone in the UK that will.

Or you could get yours rebuilt

Won't Powerhouse Automotive rebuild it ?

Thanks will iv sent them a email.

I tried powerhouse but they can't rebuild them as yet. They can only supply a second hand unit.

I've rung a couple of very good Jag indies & they don't know of anyone for that unit (one of them has an XFR on the ramp now with s/c issues).

Looks like Will's link is the lifeline. Good luck.

Not sure if this will help, but you can buy rebuild kits on eBay. Then you just need to find someone who can work on them, which surely doesn't differ that much from supercharger to supercharger.

New supercharger turned up today, its wasn't a lot more to have a new one over having the old one refurbished.
Think I'm just going to leave the snout with smaller pulley off, as the new one comes totally built-up, with new actuator set etc. Don't really want to disturb it.
Would the supercharger and snout be matched to each other?

That was quick delivery. Glad you got it sorted (although pricey).
