Supercharging an XF
I currently have the 2009 Jaguar XF Premium Luxury, but I’m wanting to give it some more horsepower.
Since the motors are identical...is it as easy as attaching a supercharger?

To my knowledge no-one has ever done it and your best bet is to sell your current XF and buy an XF SC or XFR.
You would need to address tuning ,cooling and fueling is my guess unless you run low boost. Going to need to figure out the belt routing also.
He says he has a 2009 XF so an X250 not X260, and if I am correct in assuming he is from North America then he has the 5.0 V8 AJ133 NA which has never been put in the X260.
I've moved your question from X260 to X250 forum. This is the place to post technical question about your 2009 XF.
The answer to your question is an unequivocal NO.

Actually if it's a North American MY2009 car he has the old 4.2 liter engine. The answer is still no, however. The whole car is worth 5 or 6 thousand at best, the motor conversion to a supercharged engine would cost several times that.
This question gets asked on every forum I've ever been a member of, no matter what the make/model:
I own [not the most powerful/fastest model of this car], how can I get the same power out of mine?
And the answer is always, always: Sell yours, and buy a model that's already the most powerful/fastest. It's always the cheapest and certainly easiest option in my experience, no matter what the make or model. Nobody wants to do it, of course - people who are into their cars enough that they'll sign up and be active in manufacturer-specific forums are often too attached to their car to really want to sell it to buy another - by the time they're asking questions about increasing the power of it, they've long forged a bond that is hard to break by financial sense alone. I'm sure there's some very rare exceptions for certain cars that aren't made any more, but sadly, in almost all cases, them's the facts. Just sell it and buy an SC one.

I have a solution to the above; keep the NA model and buy a supercharged model. Park them alongside one another. Drive each of them on alternating days. After about a week, you won't mind selling the n/a one.
good answer to OP. except sometimes there is no solution as sell less powerfull and buy more powerfull versions. and its not matter of the money. 5.0SC in inferior enfineered engine comparing to 4.2SC. everything except power/torque,e-diff and fuel consumption is worse. car is NOT ABOUT POWER ONLY, its car itself as a whole. sad but thats true. thats is fruit of that called "vehicles progress-evolution" in those days.
Evolution in car making today means building new rather than polish up old to possible perfection. internal combustion engines is rather old technology and it should have ben left somewhere in 2008, rther than trying "update" . we are unlucky to live in change years ~2008-2025 where everything is messed around. i really hope than in next 10 years we will settle up with soem stabile things. Needless to say I really missed golden era engines (2000-2008) when strict goverment rules forced manufacturers to make diesel bassed petrol engines. When I open 4.2sc engine bay and start car i her very subtile low noise low vibration. when i open 5.0sc and especialy 3.0sc hood and start engine i hear noisy diesel like sound. and while mileage is building is adding the diferencies become even much more noticeable. its not hi-jacking thread but just some less narrow point of wiew to "more power and more modern engines" as an upgrade.

good answer to OP. except sometimes there is no solution as sell less powerfull and buy more powerfull versions. and its not matter of the money. 5.0SC in inferior enfineered engine comparing to 4.2SC. everything except power/torque,e-diff and fuel consumption is worse. car is NOT ABOUT POWER ONLY, its car itself as a whole
Good queston as well. I'm not saying that 5.0SC engine is bad its just not as good as 4.2SC engine which is on pair with mercedes m113 engine.
What is good engine and what properties it should have and how to know if the engine is good? In my good engine book- (in sporty, not sport car)
1) sound
2) reliability
3) acessibility of maintenance
(you can remoove 1 in daily working car and replace it with space or comfort etc)
each chapter more extensively - sound. While 5.0sc is more explosive sounding i still prefer sound of 4.2sc. non direct injection engines just sound diferent that direct injection.
4.sc engine have hose under chrager failure (after 8-14years) and sometimes, when abused without leting engine cool down it may blow head gasket(usualy oil antifreeze do not mix just building up pressure) there may be some some thermostat housing leaking depending of gasket type(metal, plastics) but not often. that pretty much all failures.as for ancilaries i have seen quite a few m112 chargers on its genue oil hitting 180 000-240 000 miles.
5.0sc engine have tendency to damage bearings (fatal failure) due oil starvation or metal particle from grinding tensioners to block or insuficient oil in engine or insucificient oil pressure. you cant know oil pressure level neither real physics oil level(electronic measuring system does not show or warn when levels is dangeruos) once bearings is damaged there is no way for cheap fix. just new OEM crankshaft and bearings (Unless you are lucky to find someone who part out good 5.0sc engine, which is pretty bullet prooof on top end so that means basicaly zero possibility) I have witnessed an 8000EUR repair of 5.0sc spun bearings (with most new parts) and it spun it again after 8000miles. Ommiting driver from oil and oil pressure monitoring its worse than ommiting from engine coolant temp monitoring which happened in many cars around 2006. some manufacturers started to change engine coolant dials with numbers to electronic pixels and later remooved it completely. in modern times driver of car considered now as passenger.
other failures of 5.0sc is not that important- PCV valves goes bad, thermostat housing(plastics) goes bad, supercharged isolator goes bad, and start ratlling. injector(s) and high pressure pumps goes out from manufacturer specs, making erorrs and is quite hard to diagnose quickly.
acessibility of maintenance is harder on 5.0sc once you have tried change spark plugs on 4.2sc and 5.0sc engine your hands soon realize diferencies..
4.2sc is not without design flaws- its air suply systemto engine is very funny. it seems someone at factory sit to design chair- had a few glass of whiskey and said "hey this engine is so smple, let make some fun and design its air suply very complex"
its really pitty that JLR abandoned 4.2sc engine. with new TVS charger/ redesigned air intake (moove TB to front and remoove all those unnessesary air front an back and flows) its very nice engine easily capable of the same 470-510HP power as 5.0sc have. still to my the power to XF is very questionable at its best. I always spin BOTH rear wheels when accelerating on dry road while driving 40-50km/h. 5.0sc is even worse. f-type on the other side have more grip with same engine and tyres. not sure why. power on the highway is another matter. but american muscle car beats xf in this area with more HP.
to me XF V8 SC car is all about quiet, refined efortless riding for gentelman. the power may be more important as a whole in some japanese car like GTR or american muscle cars, but not so much in jags. if JLR concentrated in reliability in 2008 -2018 it would atracted new customers to brand. it just have non reliable car vision to customers. which thinks that german luxury sport cars is more reliable(which is not true in these days) just my two cents.
