Default Time to start looking for new rubber

Anybody ever use NEXEN ROADSTONE NFERA SU1 245/40ZR/19?

I have dedicated snow rubber and just am looking for a good replacement for the stock Conti. Rubber in the front and the BFGs in the back.

Looks like I can get 4 for around $500 installed.

Any use them?

What about the Ohtsu FP8000 Tires - Parent Company of Falken Tire (Same as Falken FK452)

They are even a bit cheaper.

Anybody got experiance with them?

Default Try Tire Rack

From personal experience, the Falken's are not the type of tire for the car. I had a set and they were "wonky". The were all over the road, did not perform well in wet, I did not feel safe. Even on dry pavement, they created poor steering feed back. I kept taking the car back to the dealer and they kept telling me the suspension was fine, that I should replace the tires, but I resisted spending on new tires. Finally, I put on a set of Continentals, problem solved.

I would recommend Pirelli P-Zero; Continental Extreme Contact DWS; Yokohama Advan Sport A/S.

You will have to spend more than $500 for a set, but in the long run, if you can afford it, better tires are worth the price.

I had used the Extreme Contact DWS for years on my Lincoln and they came when i bought the Jag last year. I liked them, but they suffered from flat spots and premature wear. I always use Discount Tire Company and they have a brand of Continental made just for them called ControlContact Sport. These are the tires you need! MUCH better treadwear, smooth quiet ride, and zero flat spots in the morning. Not only are they great in the rain and summer, but i used them this winter in up to 4 inches of snow and with the Winter mode engaged I never slipped or felt unsafe. Best tire i've ever owned. They are more expensive than the cheap ones you are looking at, but it would be well worth having quality tires that last. Plus discount tire does free rotations and their tire warranty is amazing. Since the DWS wore so quickly I've probably gotten $2000 in free tires from them in the 7 years I drove the Lincoln.

I run the Hankook Ventus EVo 2 in the summer too and they have been terrific. Had them for 2 years and very pleased with their performance
And cost!

Michelin Pilot Sport A/S 3 are currently the best all season tire you can buy and Pirelli's new PZero All season plus is very good.

Continental DWS is the gold standard for the level of tire and still almost matches the newest versions from other makers. There's a new DWS coming which is to equal or surpass the current top all seasons.

Next step down are the new Continental version of your OEM tire, Michelin's Primacy and Pirelli P7. These are more comfortable but grip less.

I'm running Falkens and I have been very happy with them. I have had no stability issues what so ever. I have used Falkens quite a few times on a few different cars. The Falkens on my XF were a little cheaper but the tread wear rating wasn't the best. I'll likely get them again. I think they are the FK452 on my stock 20" staggered setup.
