Cool Tires for 2009 XF

In the market for 19" tires to replace the original on my 2009 premium luxury XF. Does anyone have any opinions about the Michelin Primacy versus Michelin pilot? I live in So Cal, so no worry about wet terrain...we have so little. Just good handling, little noise and decent tread life. the primacy offers 55k warranty, which is great. Just not sure which way to go. Thanks for any advice...Michelin or otherwise.

Please follow this link New Member Area - Intro a MUST - Jaguar Forums - Jaguar Enthusiasts Forum to the New Member Area - Intro a MUST forum and post some info about yourself and your vehicle for all members to see. I've had great results on all my vehicles with the Continental Extreme DWS (all season dry/wet/snow) or perhaps the Extreme DW (dry/wet) in your case. Much longer life and better wet (and snow) traction than the Pilot sports I tried. Dry grip is great and the ride is quiet.

+1 for the Continental ExtremeContact DW.
When I had the original 18" Venus wheels on I fitted a set of these in 255/45R18, and they were very good in both wet and dry, they rode well (not too hard) and they were reasonably quiet. Best of all they were 'on special' at Tire Rack so I got them for a really good price, even factoring in the shipping cost to Oz.

The car came with continentals and they're very good. Maybe I'll stick with the brand. Thank you!

Default I recommend Accelera tyres for super smooth quiet ride

I have just fitted a set of Accelera PHI tyres to my XF Premium Luxury sedan and am blown away at just how they improved the ride and tyre noise of the car . I had the original DunlopSport tyres as fitted by the factory and was very disappointed by the hard ride given by these tyres .
I had the Accelera tyres fitted to my previous car a BMW 735i and was astounded at how they felt and performed on the road in all conditions .
Accelera tyres are made in Indonesia and are way cheaper than the well known brands but don't let that put you off . They are made using French technology and Equipment and they will save you heaps over anything else . I paid A$189.00 per tyre fitted which is over $100 below the top brands and they have transformed my car .
Do yourself a favour and try them they are available through the Independant Tyre retailers . I got mine through City Discount tyres in Moorabin Victoria but they are widely available throughout Australia and the Importer stocks them in quantity in Sydney .

No comparison between Michelin Primacy and Pilot.

The stock Continental tires are roughly equivalent to the Primacy. The Primacy is a summer tire and superior to the all season tires.

The Pilot series competes with Continental's DW.

DWS is an all season tire like the stock Continental ContiProContact

THE best all season tire available at the moment is Michelin's new Pilot A/S 3 which will outperform even the Conti DW.
