Default Traction control / DSC completely off?

Hi,
I have read several posts that all say similar things about the DSC and traction control. Having played around with these, i can confirm, no matter what (10 seconds, 30 seconds holding the button, etc), the traction control stays on and the nanny is in my way. How does one turn OFF traction control, completely, entirely?

thank you in advance, and if it has been previously stated, would greatly appreciate a link as the search brings me many answers to many questions, but not the answer to this question.

As you found in your research, 10 seconds should turn off DSC entirely, which I believe is a separate system from the traction control which can't be turned off AFAIK.
