Default Tranny and Electronics reliability?

Curious to get your opinions on the reliability on transmission on the XF 2009-2012? And electronics in general.. A mechanic I know and trust has told me they are very common issues in the XF.. Just makes me a tad nervous as the tranny went in my old XJ..

Thanks

It's a ZF 6HP26 (6HP28 in the XF I believe, but essentially the same thing).
They are in about 15-20 different cars, starting from around 2001.

Should help a bit with your search. They are pretty solid transmissions.

There are quite a few posts that talk about the common issues. Different years/motors have different issues. Run a few searches in this forum. Transmission issues are not common.

Agreed
The ZF 26 and 28 trannys seem to be pretty bullet proof with proper care, and in looking at a tear down vid on YouTube, are way less complicated parts wise that even such old school trannys like the GM THM400, Ford C6 or Chry 727.
