I had our 2012 XF at the dealer about a month back with the trunk not opening electrically, only by the use of the physical key hidden in the FOB. They replaced a switch which appeared to temporary fix the issue. Today, my wife once again could not open the trunk electrically or with the key. I've read here that someone had a similar problem that took a long time to fix.

Wondering what problem was found?

Rumour is there is a break in the wiring harness where it passes into the trunk which can cause this fault. It begins as n intermittent fault and then gets permanent.
