Trying to update 2011 NAV System
Need some help from the Jaguar Nation...I just bought an 2013-2014 Nav disk for my 2011 XF. I was told by the dealer this was the appropriate disk. Upon putting in the disk I get an error message stating that a software update is needed (?) then screen goes blank. My first instinct is to go back and get my $216.00back from the dealer unless there is something else I can do. Any suggestions? I'm a little pissed that I may have just blown $216.00.
Did u try putting in the first disk - prob the East Coast disk - that should have the software update on it. When I updated from the 2010 - 2011 disk that's what I did and it updated the software. Just keep in mind that the software update could take awhile so be prepared.
Same for me - I put in the disc and allowed it to automatically update the software (which took a while). Then it rebooted and started up again and worked fine. Maybe you can shut it all down, take out the disc, put it back in and try again. By the way, I believe you have to do it with the car running. If you are in courtesy mode the entertainment system switches off after some period (maybe 10-15 mins?) and if it's not yet updated fully it will crash the system.
073]Just saw these responses....Thank you very much! I took your suggestions and "Yes" everything is fine and updated! I appreciate the help!

Did I understand you bought the disc directly from the dealer? My Nav is in need of an update.
