I'd make quick work of an SS. But when you look to performance on that platform they all put superchargers on them to go fast now. Used to be you'd put in cams and headers and a bunch of other small mods to get 80 hp. Now they just throw a supercharger on it and the get 150-200 HP.

That's exactly what Jag did too. My advice is if you truly want more power, trade your car out and find a supercharged before you spend a bunch of money on it you can't recover. Out of the box it's a better car both in engine and suspension. I'm hoping the louder exhaust will give you the sensation of more power and you'll not want to upgrade the stereo because the exhaust sounds so good.

I agree. There is no substitute for a supercharger, especially with Jaguar. And no substitute for a factory installed s/c- because they do everything else to handle the extra pressure and power.

yeah...i know...But i need to ease into this. If you have seen previous threads from me, you know that right now, I just want to get the car to rate at over 400HP. That will make it the highest HP vehicle I have ever owned (NOT the fastest though...hehehe). I am getting accustomed to the car still and there is plenty of pull to make it fun to drive, especially with DSC off. I think I will play with this car for another year or two. The only complaint I have right now is that the recent S/C models are all 3.0L. When I am ready to make the move, the 3.0L will put out only a little bit more than the stock 5.0L I have right at the moment making the move to S/C almost redundant. Hopefully there will be a 5.0L in the line-up that I can pick up when I am ready to trade up. I am getting the X pipe installed today, then will be ready to put either the Varex Active or the Mina exhaust on. And, since it's been pretty much decided, the only other thing to do is a stereo upgrade. heading out to cars and coffee now. laters

I wasn't talking about 3.0 supercharged, I was talking about the 5.0 supercharged. Best of everything...hp, sound, torque.

Exactly. The 3.0 doesn't hold a candle to the 5.0 SC. So upset they dropped that engine for the LR4 enough that this will be my last one. I positively trounced a new 5.0 mustang and a camaro's already. Easy work even at stock power level. These cars really are impressive and they surprise EVERYONE.
