Curious about this - anyone know the significance of CMS for some of the new jaguars? Example is: Vehicle:2012 JAGUAR XF SUPERCHARGED
VIN:SAJWA0HE1CMS14632

This is the first time I've come across those 3 letters. I am guessing it signifies a change in location of manufacture but would welcome more educated replies. Thanks.

 

C is the model year 2012, M signifies it was assembeled at Castle Bromwich and is an XF 5.0 V8 S/C 625 Nm. S I don't know.

 

Good job, Norri! The "S" is just the first digit of the six digit chassis number.
I.E.,
Rxxxxx and Sxxxxx are XFs'.
Vxxxxx are new XJ's.
Bxxxxx are XK's
