Default What EXACTLY is the light called?

I am needing to order this light bulb (where my finger is pointing), but I’m not exactly sure what it is called. Also, is there an LED bulb that can replace this one that won’t toss out error codes? If so, could someone post a link of where I can get it.

Thanks in advance!

What is this bulb called? Front parking light I’m assuming?

In the US they are called parking lights.
In Oz we call them "parkers".
In Blighty they call them "side lights".
Yes, there are many different types of LED globes that can be used to replace the stock (feeble yellowish) halogen globes - multi-chip SMD, Cree and COB (Chip On Board).
I replaced those on my XFS and XFR countless times with all three varieties of LEDs but they kept on blowing and conking out. I was trying to use them as DRLs.
I never did figure out why they kept on blowing but COB lasted the longest and gave the best/brightest light.
To swap the globes you need to pull the whole light assembly out of the car, easy enough to do when you figure out how (two bolts on top and one up in the wheel well).
Once you get all three bolts out you then need to disconnect the wiring plug and, if you have HID low beams, the headlight washer hoses. The tricky part is wiggling the assembly out past the edges of the bumper, I found that it helps to pull the inner part of the bumper out a little.
Also watch out for the two weak plastic top brackets (wot the bolts go through), be careful not to bend them or they will snap.
Then, once you have the light assembly out of the car and up on your work bench, you will need a pair of angled needle-nose pliers to reach in and extract the parking light bulb holder. It can be a right royal PITA to do but keep fiddling and persevering and you will get there.
Then pull the old globe out and insert the new one, and refit the holder.
Top tip - the hole that the globe and globe holder fits into is only some 10 mm in diameter and many/most LED replacement globes are 11 or 12 mm in diameter and simply will not fit, I found this out the hard way, so try to find the slimmest COB globes you can.
Second top tip - before you finagle the light assembly back into place and refit the three mounting bolts, put the assembly loosely in place, plug the wiring plug back in, and test if the new globe works. If it doesn't then swap the polarity (take it out and turn it 180 degrees) or try a different globe!

I was able to do everything you mentioned regarding the removal of the light assembly. I replaced a marker light (the very outside bulb) yesterday, prior to writing the thread. Funny that you mentioned the two plastic top brackets. The prior owner had already sheered them off and the light is only held in by the bolt in the fender well. The light that I had mentioned in the original post is indeed a parking light (as we would call them in the US). But for purposes of purchasing another bulb, I want to make sure I get the exact name correct. I figured there was an aftermarket LED replacement kit for all the bulbs that is available and was hoping someone could pass that information on to me. I have already replaced the license plate lights, and they look really good. It's the other bulbs that are a bit confusing.

The top two plastic tabs go brittle with age and snap when the bolt is tightened onto them. If you get two large, flat, stainless steel washers you can put one over each broken tab and screw it down. Holds it perfectly. A simple 50c fix!

You want W5W LED bulbs, literally thousands to choose from, see here: https://www.ebay.com/sch/i.html?_fro...ed&_sacat=6028
It's been a few years now since I last bought any so I can't recommend any particular bulb, all I can suggest is you get the smallest (least diameter) you can.

Done! Ran by my local auto parts store (O’Reilly’s) where they had exactly what I needed for $16.00 USD. The trickiest part of changing them out was trying to get the bolt back in from inside the wheel well. The LED bulbs make a world of difference. More than what the pictures show. Thanks Oz for your help!

I hope the light bulb police doesn’t come looking for me. I might have to take it off road then.

Yeah. Could someone please explain that one to me.

I’d like to try that, but they are sheared off right at the light housing with nothing to hold on to. I’ll have to figure something out, for sure. Those replacement lenses are mighty pricey.

I remember seeing an old thread or posts over on the main Pommy forum showing a way of gluing and bolting new home made tabs on.
Very much a MacGyver job but apparently it worked.
I'll leave you to search the forum, go here: https://www.jaginfo.org//

Yeah, it seems I've got some digging to do to find that thread. Just got to figure out how to navigate their forum. Thanks again, Oz!
