Default What happened to this?

Had my XFRS detailed and ceramic coated (FYI, do it, you won't regret it).
He also detailed engine compartment. He polished the engine cover and now this hose is loose and looped over the cover. Can someone else with a 5.0 supercharged take a look and see what theirs looks like.
I don't remember the bracket on left with holes..... is something missing or should it be attached there.
Also should hose across rear of cover be tucked under. Other pics I have seen do not show it.

The loop is normal, my 3.0 SC has it just like that. Not sure if it’s suppose to be under the engine cover or not. I took mine off years ago to make for quicker oil changes. The engine cover is a bear to reinstall after it’s been removed.

Yeah, I think it does just slide down vertically beside cover. Weird, never noticed it before.
Can't find good pic online that shows it.
I have heard that about engine covers and that is why I had him polish it while still on the car.

Same year, 2013 5.0 Supercharged, not an XFR-S though. No hose like that on my engine Porkchopcash. No idea. My engine cover is pretty simple and easy to reinstall. Just have to line it up and push in.

In your first pic, it looks like it us under a bracket and mine is not. I will have to pop hood tomorrow and see if I can relocate.
Thanks for the pics.

I do see it. Let me run back out there and take another look.

Ah, you saw it too! Still going to look myself.

That hose on mine comes off the top of the engine (bracket), loops underneath the air intake tube (reverses direction) and then it connects to the port on the engine. You seem to have a "y" fitting on yours but I am sure it should be out of site, not on top of the engine cover.
Good luck and you are quite welcome.

I'm pretty sure that vacuum hose is attached upside down, it's supposed to look like the pics in SunFlower's post

The loop you have in your photos is supposed to be at the other end (it sits below the passenger side cam phasers) where vacuum hose joins an extension that goes to the vacuum pump at the bottom of the engine.

Agreed, from looking at my V6 (similar but not identical to the V8) and from memory of my XFR where there was definitely no such tube/pipe showing above the engine cover, instead it was a bit lower and under the cover. And yes that is the brake booster vacuum line which runs from the brake master cylinder to a nipple on the lower left rear of the SC.

XFRS pic I found online in review of the car

..... same loop as mine.
But I distinctly don't remember it being there before.

Precisely. This pipe connects the vacuum pump on the front of the engine to the brake master cylinder at the back, so it basically just needs an airtight connection between the pipes it's connecting. You won't see any issues with it connected that way around.

Who knows, maybe some were assembled at the factory like that? I'm not aware of the XFR-S having anything at the front of the engine preventing the pipe being fitted as with other supercharged 5.0s but I guess it's possible.
