Would you Buy a Warranty
i purchased a 3 year Carchex plan back when I had my XFR for peace of mind, bought the highest level "titanium" plan for I believe $2,800 ($250 deductible). The only thing it did not cover was stereo/nav/infotainment electronics.
long story short - biggest waste of time and money. I was on a monthly payment plan so i can cancel whenever i wanted, and i did after 12 months. Coincidentally my alternator blew 2 weeks after the warranty started, they wouldnt cover it. I took the car in for timing belt clicking.....car spent FOUR WEEKS at the dealership because of the back and fourth with the warranty company...they wouldnt authorize the fix because they didnt feel that the timing chain guides were ready to be replaced (didnt have enough evidence since it hadnt broken yet). They wanted me to authorize additional diagnostics that would result in ME having to pay for the diagnostics if it came out that the timing chain guides were not in fact in bad shape. i declined
the only thing they DID "authorize" was a failed auto-headlight sensor that needed replacing. HOWEVER they didnt agree with the jaguar pricing so were only going to cover 80% of the cost.
long story short, dont go 3rd party

Not OP but I ended up buying an Endurance Exclusionary Policy (The only type of warranty I buy). Endurance was able to offer me this due to low mileage (77k miles at time of purchase) on my 2012 XFR.
Policy: Endurance Advantage Preferred (with Supercharger/Wear & Tear/Seals &Gaskets/Tech Package coverage)
Cost: $6500 (monthly payments with $300 down and I can cancel at anytime)
Type: Exclusionary
Length: 60 months (expires 12/26)
Mileage: 177K miles
Deductible: $100
The car was recently in the shop for maintenance and they identified several issues. Inspector was sent out by Endurance to verify the following
- Front Control Arm Bushings
- AC Compressor
- AC Condenser
Endurance is paying 100% for the repair ($5500) minus my $100 deductible. As I said earlier in this thread exclusionary policy is the only policy I buy as it lists the parts not covered.

The only thing about 48 or 60 month term warranties is they are always based on the value of your car and re-set annually based on what your car is worth, so as an example let’s say 4 years from now you need suspension work and some mechanical stuff totaling $9k. In 2026 your car is worth $18k (just an example). The way your warranty works the repairs they have already paid ($5500) never zero out. Now you add the $9k needed now, total repairs are $14500. In your final year of your warranty your probably going to have less than $4k of real money Endurance will pay.
I purchased the month to month warranty with $100 deductible that lists all the parts that they cover. My account zero’s out every year, so I always start the year with zero dollars paid out by warranty company. It also never expires and they can never raise my premium, for my 2009 XF 4.2 Supercharged with 28k miles that fee is $133 a month forever, no matter how long I own the car. I love performance Jags, and especially love the last year of their best engine ever being supercharged. So, as long as I own this car, I will pay $133 a month for peace of mind. As with any warranty, the most they will pay is what your car is worth, and on a term contract it is what your car is worth today less whatever they have paid already equals the net amount of what you have left….. please check it out, especially if you love Jags like I do

Anecdotal support for Endurance. Had to replace my water pump, and they paid 644.01 which apparently is the dealership cost total. I took it to an indy however, who came out a bit more than that due to them replacing not just the water pump but quite a few hoses and such.
