Default XF - Prem Lux - 7 Days

This car is my first Jag and leased it immediately after my test drive........super ride......tight feel......power......agility........and all of the features. I just love the B&W sound system..440 watts....only second to the 4.2L engine wind ing up the rev scale...

I opted for a porcelain white with oysetr/truffle interior, a wonderful combination of compatable colors and contrasts. The blind spot warning system is a nice feature.

I have only good things to say.....except for two issues........1) the sun roof takes 3 tries to close as the saftey "back-off" sensor is set too sensative and it bing triggered by itself. And 2) the gas tank access door takes many...many....tires before it opens.....So I have thi snight mare of running out of gas during the poring rain storm! Hopefully, these are easy fixes for the delaer service dept.

This is my first auto with such low profile tires and I am cincerned about driving the streets of the northeast as I encounter the infamous pot holes in Spring.

Again, this car is fast, tight, nimble, smooth, quiet, pwerful, great sound system, a looker! and a marque with substance and proide of ownership.

John

We have had many complaints the same about fuel door.
You need to press it in middle of door, not toward rear as many sales people believe. The system will also lock out the release solenoid if you keep opening and closing it. Locks out for 60 seconds to prevent solenoid burning out.
The sunroof is also easy fix, an adjustment that your dealer should have caught at PDI.
A nice color combo you got there. I like the porcelin white on the XF. Makes it stand out.

Enjoy the car.

Congrats and hope you get those small issues solved. I can't wait to see that car color in person. I saw a black one today and was not very impressed.

Thefuel door fix worked. I think it is also miss stated in the owners manual. Thanks for the tip!

Another point that really surprises me....No temp guage for the engine....this is my first car without one. I feel that is an essential guage and very surprised that Jaguar does notr have one! Is there a story behind omitting this guage?

Congrats John! im guessing the temp gauge is still there just has a warning feature if it does begin to overheat, although it seems nice to know when the engine is warmed up ( this might be part of the tach as on BMW's?) pics when you have time would be great tho!

There is no gauge for ECT, just like the XK. It is a warning light only and message on the message center. The gauge is BS anyway. It goes from cold to op temp then stays there. Many times it will not go to hot until too late, if at all.

The cars are nice with or without temp gauge....lol. I like the BSM and B&W. Also love the reverse camera and the fact you do not have to put it in park when you shut off the car.....does it all for you.

I will have to check out the "auto-Park feature when powering down.

IMHO - The temp guage is more useful to mewhen the engine is cold and it reaches operating temp...

I enjoy the paddle shifting...on a straight line course....it gets a bit tricky when rounding a corner! maube a beginners learning curve...

I am took a shot at attaching a photo...which my wife calls...my mistress (PS - I think she is on to something!)

nice car John.
Paddle shifts are fun.....put car in sport mode....select the gear you want.....prior to hitting the corner. Then keep throttle depressed enough to stay stable.....on exiting corner do not floor it until you are in straight line again. Ahhhh the fun I have in Jags....lol

All the wheels are decent this time round. My favorite are the S/C ones. But they all are decent looking wheels.

Love the wheels..........but hate the brake dust. Not sure if it is excessive during brakein while the pads are seating.......I have 400 miles on the car and can barely see the wheels...

Nothing a wash won't cure LOL.
Jags have always been bad for brake dust.

Agreed on the brake dust! In fact when I get brake dust on my rims, it highlights a rectangle spot on each rim where there was a sticker. How long have you had your XF and you have how many miles? I picked mine up 3/24 and haven't hit 200 yet (although the weather's been crappy).

Clean that spot where the sticker was Tommie. The stickers were a barcode label for the tire pressure monitors.
Use a mild solvent and clean it right back off again.

Well, I just took delivry of the Griot's starter kit...about $300 for the esssentials for maintaining the aesthetics of the car. Anyone use these products from griot's?

Why hold the button? does that do something different then just pushing it once?

The button being held in, completely disables dsc. Pushing once puts it in track mode. Nice mode too. Just enough wheel slip to drift it.
