This is my first post on here and I would be very grateful for any help!

I have just purchased a 2014 XF 2.2D Premium Luxury, which is fitted with an all-chrome front grille. I would like to update this with the grille featuring a chrome surround and black inner mesh - which I believe was fitted to the Sport models.

So far, I have scoured the usual places on the internet (eBay, Gumtree, Adamesh etc) to try and locate one of these for sale, but have been so far unsuccessful. The closest I have come to finding one has been a correct-looking grille on eBay but it is states that it "fits XF models from 2009-2011 only".

I have three questions:

1. Will a pre 2011 facelift grille fit on the front of a 2014 plate car?
2. Where can I purchase the chrome surround/black mesh type grille from?
3. If I can't purchase one, can I purchase an all-black grille and swap over the inner mesh part into the chrome surround of my existing grille?

1. No, they are different shapes/sizes (the facelift grille is bigger).
2. Just keep trying Fleabay and Fleabay Motors.
3. Yes, but it involves taking the whole front bumper off and removing the grille and surround from the rear. Not difficult but very time consuming, dozens of bolts, screws and clips!

 

Easy Peasy to remove the front bumper.
I bought an aftermarket all black one ( sold my original in Fleabay for about half of the amount)

I was surprised about how high the quality was. You can snap apart your current chrome grill from teh chrome surround, do the same for the new one and swap them out. THer are jsut a bunch of "bayonet" style clips holding it together.

Thought about doing that with mine but decided to leave it all black
