XFR Coolant lines
So, over on the S-Type forum the owners of STRs complain about the
coolant lines and in particular the one that runs under the supercharger. They also complain about the weak plastic of the connectors and fittings that break if very little pressure is ever applied. All told the coolant lines seem to be a major and recurring area of problems with STRs and the one under the supercharger is particularly difficult and expensive to replace. There also are many reports of problems with the Dual Climate Control valves and operation.
Have things changed with the XFRs or are the STRs just old enough that
design issues with the lines are becoming obvious while the XFRs are still
new enough (and still under warranty) that those shared problems have not begun to reveal themselves yet?
I'm an S-Type owner who will obviously be looking to replace this car with an XF in the foreseeable future, so I'm just trying to be prepared.
