Gents' - the thread is 5 years old!

Why don't we find someone to make them?

 

Since 5 years have past. I wonder. Have a spot that makes them ever been found since then?

 

I still haven't found any I've been looking since I bought my jag

 

The company he posted looks to still be alive? website says to get 20 people together then they will do it.

I was going to make my own but I can't find any members to send me a guinea pig pair to try it.

It can be hard to give en estimate without having and actual lens in hand, but from looking at a couple pictures of the turns signals on ebay, I would put the cost at around $160 per set. Customers would be able to choose from clear, light smoke, dark smoke, silver pearl, diamond pearl, black pearl, etc lenses, and white, silver and black housings. I would actually need TWO sets of lenses to make the molds from. I usually end up having to chop the housings up to get good lenses from one set, and then chopping up the lenses to get good housings from the other set. They very rarely seperate cleanly enough to make molds from the lenses and housings from the same set.

Just let me know if you have any other questions, and we can go from there.

I would be down for a set of clear indicators, and clear reflectors front and rear on the bumpers, $160 x 3 is a bit steep though .....

Happy to chip in some cash for the donor sets, could do as a group split maybe ???.

Is $160 just for the turn signals or does that include the front side marker lights?

 

I'd be very interested depending on price. I've been thinking about this since day one, and can't find a way to conviniently do it myself and get proper light diffusion through the lens. So if they could get the turn signals and corner marker lights out the door for no more than $150, I'd probably be down for a set.

 

@ Steve, we're talking about just the fronts, the side markers aren't being discussed, but I can send him a couple along with the indicators, to get a cost.

$80 a lens is a bit expensive for a stone to hit it....

He's only guessing at the price, cost should come down as they're all flat lenses once away from the back part. The other thing I can do is split them myself so no need for x2 sets, the key is heat

I know it would transform my car...I also like the smoked lens idea, it would blend the front bumper on black cars....

Nearly halfway there (price dependant of course)

1. He doesn't need 2 sets, I'll split & send one pair.
2. Side marker lenses are all the same, the backs are handed Lf Rf Lr Rr He only needs 1. (we use original backs?)
3. Costs should come down as they're flat, no odd curves. Markers to add to order.

 

I would be in for turn signals and side markers depending on price. I already tinted mine black and it looks SOOO much better on my black car.

 

I would want completely clear lenses... the housings already appear to have chrome on them.

Just like Porsches...
