Default '17 heated seats

I've a '17 XJL bought in Nov of last yr. The heated seats do not seem to heat at all till about 15 minutes or more, then they heat up enough. The indicator on the screen shows they are at the MAX heat when this is observed.

Is that normal, or not? Steering wheel heats up just fine.

I *** u me the seats are electrically heated.

That doesnt seem normal. Mine get warm after a couple minutes, if not less, and particularly the back rest. Ive usually shut it off by the 15-20 mark. They arent the warmest heated seats I have ever used, like Audi or Cadillac, where it becomes uncomfortable, but they are good. Obviously it also depends on what I am wearing.

Are the other seats the same way? Thats usually how I check things like that. If all 4 whatevers are doing it, its gotta be normal.

Thanks for the reply. I'll try the passenger seat and see how it goes.

I've a '07 XK that does much better than this XJ and a '14 CL550 that is outstanding with the seats. Those two are the reason for asking the heating question of the XJL.

Hmm.........33* F and raining. Good time to check it out. I'll try without a jacket on. That item might have been the reason I thought it slow to heat, although my bottom didn't get warm for quite some time too.

You might also try after you turn your seat on, stop the car, shut it off, restart, and turn on the seat again. This frequently will cause a big heat burst that you will feel right away.
