2011 Xj x351 stalling Only when coming to a Stop
Hey past few days my 2011 Xj 5.0 has been stalling at least twice a day when slowing to a stop . Only when slowing though , it doesn’t shut off while idling only when slowing down . I do have a p0660 code but I had that code weeks before it began stalling . The code didn’t trigger the light . Just happened to be checking for hidden codes . Could the code be related? Also sometimes when it doesn’t stall the car puts itself in neutral when slowing down . And the indicator flashes. Any help please !

Unclereggie, I am having a similar issue. My car only seems to do it when the tranny is cold. Talking with guys at my work who are familiar with the XF transmissions, they keep pointing back to the 1-2 shift solenoid as being the issue. My problem seemed to start after I got the fluid chnaged in the tranny (installed the ZF 6 fluid for my ZF626HP tranny). So, not sure if this is related or not. After a minute or two of driving, it seems to be much better. The other oddity that may be related or not, but it seems like after pulling out of my driveway, I can tell if I am going t oget a Dynamic Suspension fault or not just by how the tranny shifts out of first gear. May be just a fluke, but something I am paying attention to.
Battery seems pretty new , I purchased the car about a month ago , never had an issue starting .what I have noticed is that the 1-2 shifts up are kinda rough and sometimes 2-3 it seems a bit sluggish
If the car is stalling and you have the neutral issue are you sure the TQ is not locking at idle and killing the engine?
If the car shifts to neutral when coming to a stop does it still die?
Your code posted does NOT seem to be related to anything in the transmission either?

Thanks XJsss for posting this.
Hard to to understand how this could apply to a 2011 which lacked the stop/start feature, but the symptoms are awfully similar. I might suggest updating/ reflashing the software anyway just in case.

It's a shame but he never posted back if he got it fixed or not.
So we are not sure what the problem was or what the fix is??
If you find out please post back. It's not a commonly reported problem so we have little history.

All, I can give a little more details on what I am experiencing. The dynamic fault aspect of mine turned out to be a bad front shock. After replacement, no further issues. During the summer months (ie, when morning temps are above about 50F), I don't seem to have an issue. Start the car, put it in gear, pull away and immediately stop, all is good. IT is only when it gets down to say 30F and the tranny is still cold will it act up. It feels like the torque converter is not releasing as I am coming to a stop. You can feel the engine attempting to maintain the idle, but the drivetrain wins overall. You can let the car slow down to say 1-2 mph and it is still happy. But, it is coming to the stop that it has the issue. But, after say 2-3 minutes of driving and getting a little bit of heat into the engine, then all is good and you can drive "forever" with no issues. I am pondering replacing the solenoid pack in the tranny because I do get an occassional harsh downshift between 1-2 (noted problem with the ZF transmissions) and the fix is replacing the 1-2 shift solenoid.
