I accidentally hit the mode button on my steering wheel yesterday while driving and it automatically tried to acquire a signal for Sirius radio which I do not have.
The system is now stuck in a mode where it is trying to acquire this signal and I can't use my radio, navigation, etc. I thought the problem would go away when I shut the car down for the night but it is still there this morning. When I hit the radio button on the dash it beeps but the screen still just says acquiring.
The exact same thing happened a few months back but went away after a couple of minutes.
I'm assuming that there is probably a way of reseting this without having to take it to the dealership.
scottyg when you park your car do you just lock it or do you "double" lock so it goes to "sleep"? I have found on my car if the screen messes up and goes white that turning the car off and getting out and then pressing the lock button on the door handle 2 times and waiting a minute things will reset. Hope this works for you.
Spoke to my service advisor and he says to do the same thing I said in my first post but let the cat sit for an hour before you wake it up as some of the modules can take 45 minutes to go to sleep. He said he had never seen that lockup before, but to try this.
