Default 2011 XJL Acquiring Sirius Signal Unsubscribed

Good morning guys and girls.

I accidentally hit the mode button on my steering wheel yesterday while driving and it automatically tried to acquire a signal for Sirius radio which I do not have.

The system is now stuck in a mode where it is trying to acquire this signal and I can't use my radio, navigation, etc. I thought the problem would go away when I shut the car down for the night but it is still there this morning. When I hit the radio button on the dash it beeps but the screen still just says acquiring.

The exact same thing happened a few months back but went away after a couple of minutes.

I'm assuming that there is probably a way of reseting this without having to take it to the dealership.

Any and all help would be greatly appreciated.

scottyg when you park your car do you just lock it or do you "double" lock so it goes to "sleep"? I have found on my car if the screen messes up and goes white that turning the car off and getting out and then pressing the lock button on the door handle 2 times and waiting a minute things will reset. Hope this works for you.

Default Didn't work

Nothing has changed.

Any other ideas would be appreciated.

I'm sure others out there have experienced the same thing before.

Try disconnecting the battery for a few seconds to see if it resets everything.

Thanks Delta V.

I'll give that a try and let you know if it works.

Once the battery is reconnected, is there anything else I'll need to do.

Does the mode button on the steering wheel let you choose another mode?

Spoke to my service advisor and he says to do the same thing I said in my first post but let the cat sit for an hour before you wake it up as some of the modules can take 45 minutes to go to sleep. He said he had never seen that lockup before, but to try this.

Default Thanks everyone

I really appreciate the responses today.

I ended up disconnecting the battery for about 10 minutes, reconnected it and then everything was good as new.

If the issue happens again, I will take your advise and try letting it sit longer and see if that works.

Thanks again everyone.
