Hi. So I just bought my first Jaguar. A 2002 XJ Sport and I've always wanted one, went to the dealership to get a used car just to get around for a few years to work and when I enroll back in school and saw it on the lot and went for it!

Great condition and I love it but it didn't come with a owners manual and I've struggled to find a 2002 manual online. Any advice on that? If prefer a PDF version if it's available (I doubt it) so I can just keep it on my phone.

Anyways I'm a cook and go to the gym a out so I'm using the trunk daily. I don't have a key fob. I have one black key that when I insert and turn right it beeps twice and unlocks my car. To the left it beeps once and locks it.

Now if the doors are locked and I open the trunk it repeatedly beeps then the alarm goes off unless I get the key in the door and unlock it.

Is there any way to access the trunk without having to go unlock the door first? Same with the fuel door? The center jaguar button on the trunk pushes in but not sure what that does.

There is also a trunk button to the left of my steering wheel and I pressed it assuming it'd pop open the truck like other cars I've had but it doesn't.

I'm sure the car is just classier then I am which is why I can't figure it out.

Blake: don't know if this will help but I suggest doing a google search to see if there is a Jaguar Club in your area. If there is then you might get assistance from a member(s) on this topic. Good luck.

 

Blake I had a 2001 XJR and wile I cannot provide any manuals it sounds like your key is a valet key or your key needs to be reprogrammed to the car. Also you need to purchase a fob or two. I always bought mine off of Ebay (@$20) and then had a dealer program them to the car. Also, a dealer can code cut a key to your VIN if the locks are original.
