2011 XJL NM Edition Driver's Seat problem
Yesterday I got my car back for a bumper repair and the driver's seat controls are no longer active. I am thinking this is a computer reboot issue since there are modules that had to be reconnected in the rear bumper. My questions is this: Early on , when I got this car there were software issues and the Jag tech walked me through a cold reboot of the computer which did not involve shutting down the car. That reboot fixed some issues then, similar to this. I seem to recollect that the reboot was starting the car and locking the doors twice with a break in there, but cannot remember the sequence. Does anyone know the proper procedure to perform this reboot?....Please help! Thanks!!
Sometimes my central screen comes up all white and in order to get it back to displaying and functioning correctly i turn off the engine, exit the car, lock the door from the button on the outside handle and then push the button again and hear the "alarm" chirp. I then wait about a minute and open the door and all is fine again. Hope it works for you.
To remove the lock barrel from door handles you'll only need a screwdriver or two.
- Remove the Faceplate
- Remove door handle trim
- Remove the lock
