I recently had an error code appear saying AWD is unavailable with the amber triangle appearing upon starting the vehicle. Stopped by the mechanic and they are saying it's the transfer case based on the codes. After a few days and some research they informed me that I would need to get an all new transfer case in order to solve the issue.
I also called a very reputable transmission shop in the area and was told that they can repair any transfer case and that he has done several Jags. However he did not specify how new the Jags were that he has repaired.
My initial thought is to let the transmission shop have a look and see what they can figure out. I also don't want to just waste money or time on having them look at it if the original Jag mechanic was correct in saying that I would need a new one and my current on isn't able to be repaired or rebuilt.
Does anyone have any idea on who is correct as well any advice or prior knowledge on the best way to go about fixing this issue?
