Default 2015 Jaguar XJR Transmission Jerk

Has any body experienced this before?
1. Drive the car for 10-15 minutes or more
2. Stop the car while the engine still running then select park
3. apply the parking brake
3. leave the engine running for 1 minute or so
4. apply brake pedal
5. put the car on drive while still applying the brake pedal
6. wait 2-3 seconds (while still applying the brake pedal) and the transmission selected on drive
7. release the brake pedal (not slowly)
8. the car will jerk you can feel strong jerk on the car.
I went to the dealer they reset the adaptation but this didn't make any difference, then they suggested that I need a new transmission, I am quite reluctant to replace the transmission, I would appreciated if any one of you who has the 8 speed ZF Gearbox experienced this before and if it is normal.
Thank you in advance

did you release the parking brake?

Your car seems to be running fine. It is a very strong engine and a very tough transmission, we see very, very few failures or issues with the zf 8 speed. My car will seem to want to move even with brake applied sometimes.

Hi, Thank you for your reply, forgot to mention with the procedure that I mentioned the eco start/stop feature needs to be turned off, the symptoms after doing the procedure that I mentioned, after selecting drive in step No. 5 the car does not feel it has engaged drive until after step No. 7 I feel a very strong kick of engagement to drive thats why I called it "jerk"

Same here. Some jerkiness to this transmission noticed . Maybe adaptation procedure needs to be complete. I know on my old ZF in my 08 Xkr had same issue until did adaptation but not sure whats the procedure on this new 8spd

Just an update about the issue with the gearbox with many thanks to ChaosphereIX and AlexJag for their inputs, the car went to the dealer, after diagnosing the issue they reset the adaptation three times on three separate occasions but this didn't solve the problem, then they recommended to replace the Gearbox, so now the car have a brand new (Not Remanufactured) Gearbox and Torque Converter installed and no more of this problem again.

I am genuinely surprised, the ZF8 is a very strong unit as long as it is maintained.

Glad to hear it's fixed but agree it's a rare failure. Lucky my 2014 XJR is still smooth as silk.
