2016 XJL Auto Start 2nd battery
In the pandemic I don't drive much and the "Low Battery Start Engine" message is frequently displayed. Couldn't find a good reference, but I bought a CTEK 40-206 to add as a battery tender. In the previous posts regarding using a CTEK charger, I also noted that pre2016 included a second battery for the AutoStart function. I recently purchased the 2016 XJL std 3.0L, and can't find the second battery in the trunk. Does the 2016 use the main battery for all AutoStart functions?
I also had to fight with the rear camera mounted in the bumper. It was pushed inside the bumper (approximately 1/2 inch), significantly reducing the wide angle display. I had to make a tool, because short of removing the entire bumper, just removing the lower bumper vanity skirt didn't provide access

Stop Start history in the x351 XJ. No Stop/start 2010 through 2012. Stop/start introduced in 2013 model year with second battery through 2015. Beginning in 2016 the small battery was replaced by a condenser pack in the same location as the small battery. and continues through the 2019 final XJ production.
