Hey Guys & Gals, I need to know how to remove my X351 analog clock from the dash so I can place a new one in it. I have lots of tools but can't seem to find a way to remove it without damaging the leather dash. Per the pics, there are two (2) pressure points to seat the clock in the dash and thus have to be depressed to release the clock. BUT, how do you get to them without damage to the dash? Any suggestions? (See pics)
I agree!
That video is terrible and this is so common on Youtube. Lot's of talking and then magically the clock is out in his hand? He glossed over the entire point of that video! Plus jamming a piece of metal in there will mark the leather and scratch the chrome around the clock. That is NOT the way to remove the clock! Pure hack job!
rothwell that is a great thread and I remember you working thru all that! I think your the one that mentioned the clock comes in 3 colors? Black, Silver and Blue.
Read this thread and see the great pictures showing you exactly how to remove the clock. Without damage.

The video takes a different approach using the thin steel to slide in and trip the side latches somehow along the rim. Seems effective enough but I do see some risk in cosmetic injury to the surfaces. Maybe, maybe not. Going thru the vent holes seems less risky. But if I only had the thin tool available I would probably go for it with fingers crossed and biting my lip.

I need to do this. Mine is acting funny. Digital clock on the headunit says one thing and the clock will display 5min off.
After removing the vents before for my lighted vent mod.. I don't think I ever want to pull them out again. Especially with the clips being useless afterwards

Exactly. Horrible technique. Much better to do it the way Jaguar meant it to be done.
