When you press any button inside the car key fob or the trunk it opens halfway - stops - and closes but doesn't latch. What should I try to fix it?

 

Disconnect battery for 10 minutes recheck after that.

 

So i took off some of the trim panels in the trunk and noticed that the wire on the right side hinge mechanism is rubbing the liner. But it's pretty much glued to the hinge so it looks factory and I couldn't position it any better so that it doesn't rub the liner.
