After transporting my 2012 xjl portfolio by truck from NC to CA the beeping started as soon as I picked it up and has not stopped. Any ideas what it is or how to stop?

 

I would say, you need to scan the instrument cluster for a warning sign. It could beep for many reasons I think.
Maybe someone else knows if the 20 seconds is significant.

 

Seat belt warning?

 

rhomanski, I did some looking, there is nothing specific to the 20 second delay that I could find that would result in a chime going off. I will keep doing some more looking. FOund some other interesting tidbits on other stuff as I was doing this search.

 

+1 on the seatbelt warning.

 

If not the seatbelt chime, is it a muffled beep like a smoke alarm battery warning in another room, that seems to come from around your knee area (often passenger side, and louder with the glove box open)? Or is it a deliberate beep coming from the instrument cluster? Is the beep once per 20 seconds, or more regularly but only starts after 20 seconds?

Has the vehicle ever had a tracker fitted?
