Bushings Bad and Motor Mounts needed replacing at 40k miles?
So I took my car last week to Jaguar in Mission Viejo because I would hear a clunking noise when I would go over speed bumps or down dips. Turns out my lower arm bushings were bad and needed to be replaced. What they also found while it was there was that my motor mount was bad. I was able to replace both of them but you can see my engine really move when you hit the gas.
Is this a common problem for a car with such a few miles? I’ve already replaced the water pump last year and I go in for regular maintenance every 15,000 miles.

Did the dealer install the motor mounts? As it looks like the retention band that raps around the the motor mount may have been removed. I can't be %100 sure on this but others may chime in as that IMHO is way to much movement. could even be a missing nut holding the motor mount is missing.
Now that is some engine movement right there!! Follow up with what XJsss said too.
Also check your transmission mount. It has been thru a lot with all that engine movement. They are easy to replace and often are found to be bad when the engine mounts are replaced.

I'm in Newport Beach and have the exact same issue. I'm thinking of replacing both motor mounts. What did MV Jag end up doing to fix the issue?
Thanks,
Don

Do you have any warranty on the car . Could try jaguar crc but they are trouble to deal with , good luck

I thought it was odd that the OP was questioning the mileage, but never said what year/how old it was.
Not all parts are mileage-sensitive as much as age and impacted environmental wear.
