Unhappy CCF modifications not applied

Hi guys,

My Jag is 2017MY X351. Unfortunately, it does not have an IPMA. I installed a Rearview-mirror with HCMB built in yesterday. It was very easy and no tools were needed. It has a mono-camera unlike IPMA. I modified the CCF, and after completing the learning, I am finally able to use AHBA.

I wanted to check the extent of this HCMB's capabilities. I turned on TSR. It works fantastically well. Unfortunately, Lane assist was not available. So far everything has been easy.

There is a problem.

I believed I could use "Intelligent cruise control" because I could use the TSR normally. Unfortunately, this feature doesn't seem to be available. I tried to return it to its original value. When I tried to fix the CCF, I was shocked. I obviously changed it to "Fitted (0x40)", but it was replaced by "C9(0xC9)". Checking the CCF, "C9 (0xC9)" is not a selectable value. This was the first time this happened.

I tried to change this to the default value - "NOTFITTED (0x40)". No matter what I did, it didn't change.
  1. DTC Read & Clear (repeat)
  2. Negative isolation (battery reset)
  3. JLR-VCI and Genuine Mongoose tried.
  4. Laptop reboot

What should I do if the value does not change after CCF modification?

Many Thanks,
KIM

I am interested in doing the same, auto high beam and traffic sign recognition, do you have the part number for the mirror, i have a MY2016 XJ. Also any fitting instructions or overall guidance would be appreciated.

Thanks
Mo

Hi @mohaqq ,

This is a very simple job. I have posted everything on my blog - step by step. There's a used Mirror/Cover package at a good price on eBay now.

@mohaqq , Here is,

You can find 2 items on eBay. GC is for RHD and HC is for LHD, there is no difference when learning is completed.

Does this then also support AEB autonomous emergency braking ? Did you manage to get LDW lane departure warning activated, are other configs required or just not supported without other modules?

I have no plans to test other features until I fix the "Intelligent Cruise Control" issue. Its default value is 0X40 (NOTFITTED), but for some reason it has been changed to 0xC9 (C9). And I can't get this back. So, AEB and other function hasn't tried it yet.

Check if CAN signal is detected at 7/8 of Rear-View-Mirror's jack, if yes, maybe, I think that you can use AHBA. But part number different. The Mirror above is for a pre-2016 car. Supports LDW and AHBA.

Hi guys,

I solved this problem with Dave's help. The cause was an incorrect mask definition(0x0F) and overflow to next parameters. This is obviously Jaguar's absurd design error. I have summarized the contents briefly.

Many Thanks,

Hi , can you confirm which of the following you managed to get working by change of mirror with camera and CCF?

- AHBA ( high beam assist)
- TSR ( traffic sign recognition)
- LDW ( lane departure warning)
- AEB ( autonomous emergency braking)
anything else .

Thanks

Hi,

You can use TSR and AHBA without "replace" IPC. If you want to use LDW/AEB, you have to replace IPC to 2018MY or above. 2016/2017MY IPC's software does not have LDW/AEB menu(You can not update base software of IPC). And my Jag has Adaptive Cruise Control. So, I can use IEB(Intelligent Emergency Brake). It is similar with AEB.

Thanks,
KIM

Here,
TSR
  • 98 Byte (Lane departure warning) > 0x13 (No lane departure warning with traffic sign recognition)
AHBA
  • 446 Byte , 000:001 bit (Auto high beam) > 0x02 (Fitted)
  • 446 Byte , 002:003 bit (Auto high beam) > 0x08 (Enabled)

Parts number
  • FW93-17D737-CB
  • FW93-17D737-DA

Hi,
For cars of 2017 year, for IEB, what are the bytes to change? I was searching for Inteli something and found some variations for AEB and also some Inteligent EB. Not sure which one is which.

Hi,
First, IEB can be used in equipped with Adaptive Cruise Control (ACC). It's different from AEB and details are not much different from those in a GAP's LandRover.
