Clicking Noise Coming From Engine/Supercharger
Hello everyone.
Today, I started my car and heard an odd clicking noise when starting the car. When the car is warm and you start it up it clicks once. When you touch the gas you hear another click. Could it be the water pump going out or the Torsion Isolator inside the supercharger? There happens to be a TSB JTB00349NAS1 for the 5.0L Supercharged V8 Engine that has to do with the spring inside the supercharger that wears overtime.
The only problem I have is that I swapped my SC pulley. Do I risk voiding my factory and extended warranty by going in and them possibly finding out that my car has a pulley swap. I did have to shave a little bit of the SC to clear the new pulley so that would probably be a dead giveaway. If I decide to have a shop do it, the part itself is about $400 and labor would be about 4 hours.
The thing is, if the dealer says nothing about the modifications on my car, then I can get the water pump and the Torsion Isolator fixed by them under warranty. Jags over at ECU Tuning Group said that he offers his pulley and tune at dealers in Southern California. I don't see why the dealer in SF would void my warranty if the pulley is a product that is being offered at dealerships.
Any thoughts?

Also when my isolator was dying it rattled all the time not just at start up.
Thanks for the insight boiler. I feel more at ease now. I also talked to the dealer already.
My dealer found that spring was weak and so it was replaced. It is located at the back of the supercharger nose piece. So the replacement is a new nose piece C2D38553 and that includes a new pulley as it is pressed on. If this is the part you are concerned with
Do you think I can ask for the old snout?
