Something like this will be a better option.
ZZP supercharger Pulley Puller Removal Installer Tool Eaton M90 M112 M62 | eBay
If you don't use some kind of backing plate you will likely bend the back of the pulley with a jaw 'hook'.

I finished putting the new pulley on. I used an angle grinder to remove most of the metal, then a hand file to take it down the last millimeter or so, checking often with digital calipers. I then smoothed it with 180 grit sandpaper, followed by 320, 600 and 1,200 wet/dry. I put some anti-seize on the shaft and the puller tool pressed the pulley right on with no trouble.

That's the tool I used - Supercharger Pulley Puller
I didn't take any pictures, but the tool came with complete instructions. The only thing that wasn't clear is the "snout plug." It looks like a plastic plug, but it actually threads into the end of the snout. You have to unscrew it, not pull it out. I guess that's why they sell replacements! I ordered a new one from the same place as the tool.
The only other thing is that once the new pulley bottoms out STOP tightening. I went a little too far and snapped the threaded allen rod that holds the tool to the snout. The broken tip was easy to remove and there's plenty of thread left, so no harm done.
