Bought certified Jag from dealer 3 years ago, put up 20k miles, today's reading is at 48k. Car runs beautifully, only issue is that during extended idle engine goes lightly out of balance(????). My question to you is about CNA National extended warranty, $4800 total cost with taxes for 7 years/48,000 miles, please see attached picture of what is covered. I only run about 7500 miles a year. Have anyone purchased such warranty and can provide feedback please.
And what are common problems between 50 and 100k miles. I love that car and would like to keep for long time.
What you posted is NOT the contract document; it is a sales brochure that summarizes parts that are covered and is intended to get you to bite the hook. That brochure says nothing about the details of the exclusions, limitations, deductibles, and other ways that the Administrator can limit or deny your claims. You should ask your Jaguar dealer for a copy of the entire contract and read it carefully, especially the fine print. It is NOT a warranty from Jaguar, even though it is sold by a Jaguar dealer. It is not backed by Jaguar. Buyer beware and do your due diligence before you buy.
Now that I've scared the daylights out of you, the good news is that most Jaguar dealers who sell those high profit third-party extended service contracts will push very hard to get repairs covered since they want to keep selling more of them.
An alternative is to put that $4,800 premium in a savings account to fund future repairs. That's what I decided to do.
