My wife and I are considering buying a 2011 XJL. My understanding is that these vehicles come with 5 years / 50,000 miles complimentary maintenance programs. In looking at vehicle history reports, I see that several original owners had the servicing done well prior to when the vehicle recorded the mileage, for example, the 10,000 mile maintenance performed at 4,000 actual miles, the 20,000 mile maintenance performed at 9,000 miles, etc. Assuming your car is now three and a half years since being put into service and has 32,000 miles, but the prior owner had the vehicle serviced up through the 50,000 mile scheduled maintenance, my question is, has anyone run into a problem at the dealer refusing to provide any more complimentary service based on 5 previous services being completed on the vehicle? Thanks.

 

theyre time or mileage based. looks like all have been performed. and you would need to check in service date which is what everything maintenance and warranty related goes by not model yr.

 

If you've not exceeded the 50k threshold, the dealer can phone in for auth on extended maintenance.
