Default Crank no start

Hello,

I have a 2015 XJ 3.0 with 150k kms. Currently getting a crank no start. The codes that I'm seeing are: P0042, P0144, P0126, and P0116. I've tried to plug a new ECT located on the back right of the engine, but the codes do not clear. I've also fully charged the main battery but the auxiliary battery may be low, not sure how much that affects the situation.

Any advice would be appreciated.

The condition of the aux battery is irrelevant, all that happens if it runs low is the SS system stops working, many of us run with the aux battery removed from the car.

Have you cleared the codes and see what comes back?
Can you give us a resting battery voltage after the car has set all night?
The P0144 relates to an O2 sensor which should not affect starting.
The P0042 also is related to the O2 sensors.
The P0126 point to the ECT which you changed but again that should not affect starting.
The P0116 is another ECT code.

So I don't think any of those codes would prevent it from starting.

Crankshaft position sensor failure can cause this kind of issue.

Would be good if you could pull a coil pack and plug in a spark plug the old fashion way to see if you are getting spark during cranking.

Apologies for the delay, recently another one of my cars got into an accident due to another driver so the stress levels have been all over the place. There was fuel in the cylinder so what I'm going to assume is that its just the fuel is bad from sitting, and there might be some borewash from all the failed starting attempts.

However my dumb*** decided that I'd take a look inside the cylinder with a borescope, completely forgot about it and after when I asked my mum for some help to start the car while checking for spark. She couldn't get it started so I went and started it and noticed the borescope wire move and instantly turned it off. But too late, the thing got sucked in and bent by the valves. So all i can do is hope and pray that the amazon borescope didn't bend the valves. Going to be doing a leakdown test tomorrow to check.

If you guys have any suggestions lmk and once again thanks.

Wes
