Diesel smell in cabin
Hi
Car is a 2006 2.7 tdvi diesel. Every now and then I get a smell of diesel in the cabin. I've had the car checked for fuel leaks and the exhaust system isn't blowing anywhere. The car runs perfectly well. Any ideas anyone? Thanks.

Hillboy55, I would venture to guess that you don't have a carbon filter in your ventilation system and what you are getting is a bit of "blowback" from the exhaust from the outside wind blowing the exhaust back on to the car, where it is getting sucked up by the ventilation system. Because you are not running a carbon filter, this is allowing the smell through.
On a side note, where you posted this is for 2010+ XJs and you are saying that you have a 2006. You may want to step over to the X350 section and talk about this there. they will have more specific information for you.
