Hi! My 2017 XJL has the 360 degree parking camera, but I can't seem to get it to work when my car is set to "reverse". I just see the standard rear view camera. I've tried using the "P" button above the rear view mirror. I know the cameras work because if I fiddle around in camera settings with the car in D, I can get the 360 camera enabled, however. What am I doing wrong?

 

Here’s some photos — you can see the camera does work in neutral, but not reverse.

 

Read your Owners Manual. It explains the various camera settings and functions.

Thanks -- I did read my manual. The issue is, the camera button is greyed out in reverse, so I can't touch it! I looked at the various settings and everything is enabled, so it should be working.

 

Does the hard button not work?

 

Are you sure you have the 360 parking camera?
From your picture I don't see the hard buttons that are used to activate the system.
Here is a video of how it works and notice the hard buttons.

 

This is my 2016 camera and it works whenever you press the button, even if you are driving down the road.

 

Yes, I have it because here’s what I see when I hit the hard button in P.




But in R, this is what I see (soft buttons all greyed, hard button nonresponsive)

 

I'm pretty sure this is normal as when I put my 2016 in "R" I get what you have.

Do you get the 360 view like in my above picture when you press the camera button on the screen?

 

If I’m in D or P, yes, the camera works. I would just think it would also work in R because that’s when you’re parallel parking, haha.
