Default Engine not starting After hitting a large depth pothole twice

Hey guys, new to the forum, a proud owner of a Jaguar XJ L X351 (2013). I was in Manchester and after hitting a pothole which was large in diameter and depth was big as well, the front of the vehicle slammed onto the floor so hard, there were visible damages to alloys etc, nothing else at that time, when making ways back to London On the A1 Motorway I could feel the driving was not normal in terms of tracking/not balanced right and vehicle swaying away from lane and steering pulling to left etc. Coincidentally I hit another massive pothole on A1 between Stamford-Peterborough, after this the vehicle just shutdown and lost its power, no power to steering, accelerate so the speed was eventually going down and I stopped by the hardshoulder (thank goodness no accident). After being recovered to a garage in London the garage has found the oil pump not to be functioning and oil filter has metal particles/shavings and metal elements were also found on Oil after Oil was drained. What could this be as the the vehicle fails to start, it will still crank but not start. The vehicle has had full Jaguar Dealer history until 2017 and then independent garage using Genuine OEM Oil. Please shed some light to this. In the meantime I contacted my insurer’s and made them aware of the situation and I believe this could have been done as a result of hitting the first pothole. In addition the windscreen glass cracked as well on the edge off driver side I believe happened as a result of the impact the vehicle had when it slammed the floor. Thanks for your time and reading.

Default New Update

Garage has states that there is no way I could have caused any damage to Oil Pump and it may be the fact that as a result of hitting the Pothole as I described this could be the cause of it and as a result of the Oil Pump not being working the Oil cannot have gone through and the vehicle was at high speed of around 60-70mph and an unknown component internal of the engine must have girnded and this caused the shutdown/power loss.

My five cents hypothesis for the metal particles: as oil change is mostly (only) done by aspiration, I can imagine that there is a magnet to collect all the metallic debris in the bottom of the sump, or at least a magnetic oil drain plug... in seven years, this can represent quite an amount of metallic scrap and with the shock these debris could have been released and sent into the oil stream, possibly damaging the pump....

For the no start, I think the X351 has no inertia switch like the X100 or X350 had, but some more complex system linked to the SRS. But then this system must rely also on some sensor, and maybe the shocks triggered it? Your garage should check what codes are logged...

Has the Inertia Switch been checked yet ? If activated this will stop the engine and prevent a re-start until reset.

That oil filter doesn't look the correct one. I'm going by a comparison to my 2012 XF Supercharged. I don't think they changed over the years so you might want to look in to that.
