After having the battery disconnected for some time the sunroof control module clearly lost its mind and tried to drive the front blind rearwards when it already was. Now it's not moving and making the lovely racket when the gear drive on the motor slips on the spindle. I've since managed to get the new replacement motor driving the correct way when I press the button but it's unable to drive the blind without making the racket. If I assist it it'll move. I've replaced the guide shoes and used silicone paste to lubricate the tracks. I left with now replacing the spindle that moves the blind back and forth. I've dropped the headlining but for the life of me I can't figure out how to replace this item. Anyone have any ideas? The long spindles that move the blinds are what I need to replace in this pic.
So I've managed to replace the drive spindle and refit and check for movement. But now I'm stumped on refitting the blinds on to the guide shoes. The animation graphic in the service manual pdf doesn't work. Does anyone have a copy of this animation they could send?
I don't think there are any animations in any of the Jaguar manuals I have?
Yes the manuals take a good bit of imagination or prior experience to be of much value.
Hopefully another member that has worked on that area will respond. So far I have zero experience as my 2014 has been very trouble free.

Decided to bite the bullet and remove the sunroof and figured it out in about 2 minutes...LOL
The trick is to roll the metal bar up in the suede almost a full turn and then seat the metal bar in the guide shoes. Let the tension in the blind start to unroll the metal bar but allowing the metal bar to pass under the guide shoes and then click it in to place. See the attached video.
Once done the glass panel one was relatively straightforward.
