Default This is good bye!

Well folks it's been fun! But the great Jaguar experiment is over. I have wanted a truck for quite some time and cannot afford to keep the Jag and a truck. Not to mention I want a new truck and the jag continues to lose value. So with it just hitting 5 model years old, it was time to part with it. I enjoyed every minute of it and will miss it! I traded it in on a 2018 Ford F150 loaded King Ranch edition (It was their showroom truck). What an amazing truck! Just a super ride and luxurious as the Jaguar with full leather and real wood! Wow! I was offered and accepted $30k for my 2014 XJL with 23k miles. I think that is about the best I could do even had I tried to sell it myself. I also got the sales tax savings which is another $1800. King Ranch stickered at $64k and I got it for $52k.

Anyone that is interested I have an extra brand-new key coded to my Jag (I had 3 they only asked for 2) that I will sell, enough Jag Castrol oil for 2 oil changes along with 2 oil filters. Oh and I also have a brand new set of OEM Jaguar winter floor mats still in the sealed plastic. PM me if interested in any of it. I'll make a post in the for sale section at some point. Oh also I have the Foxwell NT510.

Farewell and happy motoring!

New King Ranch

That is an awesome looking truck. In fact weirdly, the only reason i didnt get an Ecoboost F150 was because it was too long for my garage.

Anyway, enjoy it!

That's actually the exact same issue I was struggling with! I got the supercrew cab and short box (5 1/2 feet). But I found out this morning actually that if I pull ALL the way up, touching the wall, then put on the e-brake so I get no rollback at all, and I removed the garage door handle (which I don't use anyway), it JUST fits. The rubber seal actually brushes the bumper on the way down.

As for the EcoBoost, I was not impressed AT ALL. I test drove a Raptor and also the King Ranch with the EcoBoost and found it did not know what gear to select along with being generally blah. I noticed no power difference at all with the 5 liter V8, which is what mine has even though on paper one is 450hp and one is 395hp. V8 sure sounds a LOT better though.

Oh one more thing as a huge bonus. I called this morning and added the F150 and removed the Jag from my insurance and it went DOWN by $400/year! Wow!

.
I had the EXACT same plan! I even considered getting an aftermarket rolled bumper just to be sure there was no issue, but i wasnt really able to test-fit before I purchased, unfortunately. Not complaining though.

In the little research i did, a lot of people complained that even with exhaust, the Ecoboost just sounded pretty bad. Thats disappointing to hear about the performance though, cuz I was hoping as time went on and they got more aftermarket support things could get interesting.

The fit was close enough that I was going to cut out the drywall on that part of the wall (it is a finished garage) and reframe the 2x4 studs (like a doorway would be) in order to get another 5" of space. I still may do that but not a priority anymore. I am a little surprised that it has a "real" antenna and not a window integrated one. It hits the garage door a bit when going in but no big deal it just springs back. Had I got the Raptor I don't think the garage would be an option I think the extra height would be too much.

Clearly we have the same thought processes, because I considered the same thing, basically cutting a notch out of the front wall that the bumper would nestle into just right. If my kitchen wasnt on the other side of that wall I might have given it some real consideration.

Robert,

Congratulations on your new F-150! As you know, I have a 2018 F-150 myself and couldn't be more pleased. Mine has the Ecoboost engine and I like it, although that could be because I've become accustomed to it. Had one in a 2012 Lincoln MKT, a 4 cylinder version in a 2015 Mustang convertible, and a second 6 cylinder Ecoboost in the 2016 Lincoln Navigator that I traded in on the pickup. I bought it in May and have only driven it 2400 miles so far, but I primarily drive it back and forth to work which is an eight mile round trip. At any rate, I hope you'll be as happy with yours as I am with mine! Good luck selling all your Jaguar goodies!

Dwayne

I bought this 2018 Expedition in May. Though not a F-150, it is a close cousin. I am extremely pleased with it. Cabin comfort and ride and handling are excellent, as is the 400 HP EcoBoost V6. I have had 3 EcoBoost F-150s and all were strong pullers and trouble-free. I don't miss the V8 sound at all.

Never fear, the XJ Portfolio is still with me and trouble-free at 42,000 miles.

John
