Default Head Gasket replacement, advice, brands?

Due to stuck/broken injector and slightly jumped timing, I need to pull the heads on my SC V8.

So I'll replace the gaskets.

Is Elring a good quality gasket? I know they're oem suppliers for some brands.

I don't want to have to do this job twice because of cheap Chinese parts. Would like to hear what others have used successfully

Elring is good quality.
Please ensure that the parts you purchase are not counterfeight (chinese made) by checking these: https://www.elring.us/newsroom/artik...product-labels

Elring or JLR - they're the same anyway.

I have used countless Elring gaskets on Jaguars (and BMWs, M-Bs, Porsches, etc.). Always good quality and FCP Euro claims Elring is an OEM to many European automakers. I do not know if Elring made the original head gaskets for your car. It may have been one of the European Ford OEMs.

A great aftermarket brand is Fel-Pro if they have gaskets available for your car. Their gaskets tend to be "over-engineered" a bit and they perform really well. Other well-known European gasket makers include Mahle, Meyle, Victor Reinz, Continental, Corteco, etc.

Cheers,

Don

There is rumoured to be a five-layer aftermarket gasket available, as used by TATA engines in Lancaster, California...
Also check out the 10.5 MM head bolts, more resistant to gasket failure
