Default Headlight lense replacement?

Has anyone attempted to replace just the lense from the headlights. They are starting to sell these on eBay with quick shipping. Used to be a. Alibaba special. I have a broken lense on a brand new adaptive beam unit. Long story short car has just come out of the body shop for a broken headlight and bumper scuff. and a month later small accident on the same unit. Trying to see how hard to remove or out a claim in and pay the deductible

is it a simple heat gun and pry or is original fused with impossible glue?

ricardoa1, I tried pulling a lens off of a damaged headlight in an attempt to replace it. I wish you luck. It doesn't use the normal glue. It is using something else. The clear lens is stuck on there pretty good. Maybe there is a process that I do not know about, but I ended up destroying the clear lens (which it already was) and still have tons of the clear left in the groove for the sealing.

Bummer sounds like it’s a multiple hours with a dremel type of job. Grinding and cleaning that groove with grinding bits. ugh. I’m afraid of putting in a claim for a similar repair, I don’t want them to think I’m scamming them. Bummer. I’ll have to decide what to do.
