Default HELP!! Which one to purchase???

I have found a couple XJ S/C's Im interested in purchasing and I would like some feedback on which one would be a better deal. First one is a new 2011 Stratus Grey with Ivory/Oyster interior and the polished Orona wheels with like 50 miles on it. I had previously been in negotiation on this car earlier this year was quoted around $73,100. But due to life changes I decided to hold off a bit. The other one is a used 2012.(a demo) Polaris White w/ Jet Interior with 3,700 miles and they are asking $72,000. I would like to add the illuminated tread/trunk plates but not sure on the pricing of that option. So if you dont mind offering some suggestions on the total price I should pay .. including tax.. Im in Dallas and tax is 6.25%.
I appreciate all of your suggestions in advance

I would prefer the 2012 for the fact that it may skirt some of the issues that people have had with the 2011. Look at the VIN number on both, the 2011 and the 2012, the last 5 digits tell you the production number. I think that 2011s ended with around 20,000 in production numbers and late 2012s were up to near 40,000. The later the better, IMO.

As a personal preference, in hot Dallas I would prefer a white car to a dark one.

Thanks Albert! I agree too the white one would be a lot cooler in Dallas. The 2012 VIN # ends in 29257 and the brand new 2011 ends in 17285. I would hope to get a bigger discount on the 2011 since the 2013's should be released soon and they would be happy to get rid of it! lol

I agree. They should be VERY motivated to sell a new 2011. That production number is pretty decent for a 2011. I always considered 10,000 as a cutoff for my potential purchase. I did end up getting a 2012 with a 22,xxx number. Thus far, perfect, not a single issue.

Yes, it is a fantastic automobile.

As far as good deals; let's just say that I felt satisfied with the deal and the dealer/salesman also felt happy. That means that I probably could have driven the price down lower at the expense of the mutual good will and satisfaction :-). That is not my form, I like to see all involved happy.

I basically got $12K+ off the sticker which included $4K cash provided by the Jaguar owner loyalty program. Also, I leased the car and got a near 0 percent lease rate (0.24%). So, I was/am happy and they were happy. All is good :-)

My 17k range 2011 needed the roof fix, but otherwise has been stellar. I don't think you can go wrong either way. Be sure the warranties are satisfactory, and that you get the fill one on the demo. The 2011 models had an extra years' warranty sure to the jag anniversary. That may be a factor to input.
