So, I put up with the no stop start warning light resulting from the disconnected ground lead.
Another thought and direction: There is a guy, Steve Klonsky, who has been making and selling devices that plug into the SDD port for GM and Chrysler vehicles that disables the stop/start feature. (Smart Stop Start - HOME) I've tried to get his attention to focus on developing a device for us Jaguar customers since 2018. He has replied to me that he might consider it for the future. Maybe more of us could encourage him to develop a fix. I'm sure his market and customer base size isn't with us guys, though.
I have one of his relays, in this cas for a 2004 VW Phaeton. I never installed it. I did send him an email askin for one for my Jaguar and he said not at this time. Just 3 wires. Hmmm

2016 XJL. The only negative I can see when unplugging small wire bundle from the trunk mounted capacitor is there is no beep when locking the car.

I think I'll try hooking my relay up to the small wire bundle from the capacitor. That way I can set the ECO default to "off" and turn it on when desired. I just need to get the wiring diagram from Ken.

FYI, no joy. Steve Klonsky replied to my current inquiry whether his company, smartstopstart.com, will be doing anything for us x351 JLR owners is "Sorry, we decided not to support this vehicle".

Said the same to me. Maybe I'll open up the relay he sold me and figure out if it could work.

Looking at their website, the barely support any cars, so no surprise the won't spend time adding a low volume vehicle.
