Default Infant car seats

Hi there,

We are having twins and I am trying to find a car seat attachment for the middle sear. Is there a car seat hook for middle seat.

Infant car seats are huge (I bought Cybex Aton) and they take quite a bit of space.

Thanks,

Congratulations on the twins. I hope everything goes well for you.

XJ has ISOFIX mountings in the outer rear seats only. The middle seat is a bit tight for a child seat of any kind. This is fairly typical of luxury cars which prioritise the outer-rear seats to the detriment of the centre seat. This means that your largest child (assuming that there's an elder sibling to the twins) will always bein the middle because they - by definition - need a smaller child seat.

When you fit your seats into the ISOFIX mountings, make sure you use the plastic collars. I found that it was really hard to prise open the gap between the squab and the back of the seat to insert the ISOFIX bars, and the collars definitely help here. A bit of persistence and you'll be fine.

It states in the book that the middle seat is not made for latch . seat belt only.
Good luck. Try Britax Or Peg perago?

I'm looking for the best baby convertible car seats, either

Britax or Graco brand. Please suggest me brand and model type. Thanks!

I think you may be biased!

Jenny, maybe you can stop by the new members section and post an intro?

Congrats on the new additions! Im one of those lame fireman that is a carseat safety technician just to have the added certification to add to my resume. At any rate, Britax are great seats with lots of nice features. All I can do is suggest this. Niether L.A.T.C.H. systems nor the standard belt system is any safer. They are completely equal. However, you obviously cant use them together on the same seat ( big safety no no) I will say this, The center of the car is by far the safest place for a car seat. That being said, your having twins, so out of sheer convenience I would say put them on the driver and passenger side using the L.A.T.C.H. Keep them in a rear facing Britax as long as possible!!!!! Rear facing is super safe and great in collisions. If you have any more questions feel free to ask! I hope this gives you some information or direction to go on. FYI i dont have any children myself, nor will I, but two of my three jobs are to keep people safe and alive. Best of luck!!!

As FightinFire mentioned above, rear facing is the safest way to go and by law the children should remain rear facing until the age of 1.

We have 3 girls and all three of them were rear facing well past two years old! BTW they never complained, it was what they were used to.

Thanks. I did have a hard time with mountings.

I ended with 2 different sets of car seats
-Cybex Aton 2
-Mima BeSafe which fits our dual stroller (top bottom setup)

But as you can see from attached pictures of trunk and 2 infant car seats attached, almost no space for anything else.
