Intermediate Steering Shaft Joints

I removed the bolts, but the joint won’t come apart—the joints are rusted. The plan is to spray some WD-40, place a flathead screwdriver into the side opening, and tap it with a hammer.

I’m trying to remove the engine mount, but the steering shaft needs to be moved out of the way first.

WD-40 is not a penetrating lubricant. It's for water displacement, thus the WD.

Use a product such as PB Blaster to penetrate the corrosion.

Does it come off that way? Maybe the rack needs to drop down so it will pull off?

I get this an old thread but I had too unbolt the rack and let it hang and hit where the shaft goes onto the splines with a hammer and a flathead in the joint too help separate it from the splines
