Talking LKA activation

Hi guys?

I'm trying to activate LKA. My Jag is 17MY LWB.

STEP 1. AHBA
My Jag was not able to use AHBA, so I installed IPMA_C=HCMB and modified some CCF values. HCMB has a mono camera. I am now able to use TSR with AHBA.

STEP 2. LDW
The 16-17 instrument cluster cannot use LDW/LKA. After modifying the CCF, I can see the lower left lane departure warning icon. However, it does not work. LDW is available after upgrading to the 18MY's cluster. Unfortunately, it does not support steering feedback.

STEP 3. LKA
LKA requires a stereo camera, which is a very expensive component. I purchased an IPMA on eBay that was used in 18MY's. After making and connecting the harness, I was able to successfully verify the module information.

First, I had to update the module to match my jag. However, I got an error: "error code a05 invalid byte error". Stuck here.

I am using the genuine JLR-VCI and the latest SDD 164.00 v.347. And I enabled engineering mode. What's the problem? If successful, it would be the first use of LKA in 17MY's

Thanks,
KIM

I bought new and used IPMA, but, the error message is the same. I have perused TOPIx. LKA is closely related to IPMA, PCM, PSCM, BCM, GWM, IPC and ABS. I am trying to make the software the same, as there is not much difference in hardwares.

I made PCM, PSCM, and IPC the same as 18MY. I found that PDC preference is very important, so I modified the CCF and downloaded program again - GWM, BCM.

But there is a common, the first time I programmed IPMA, I got a warning "Security certificates do not match". I can see this message only once. After that, I only see the error A05 .... I have enough power (supplied 60A) and I'm subscribed to SDD(no crack), but I can't solve this problem.

IPMA has 2 DTCs.

1. central configuration error
2. cooling FAN not response

So I made and connected a cooling FAN, and solve 2nd problem.

Yes, not yet.

Thanks,
KIM

My windshield is cracked and I was looking up to the LKA/LKW options, if any. Yes, I'm same guy who is having the Audio, ACC, 10" ready to be retrofitted but still needed one bit or another. However, in preparation now I was thinking what if. So how much can be the stereo camera module and what is the code for it?

Unfortunately, 16-17MY was not able to install IPMA. I tried in several ways, but it was impossible that programming failed every time. I installed the harness same as the 18MY and installed new IPMA, but I couldn't pass A05 error. LDW works with IPMA-C (HCMB).

LDW also as I read through your posts will require a new instrument cluster, which, mostly because it is for 18MY onwards, will be difficult to source and probably expensive. Or is it the same across many other models even some RR?
However, the most thing I want to activate after adding the ACC radar and switch pack on the steering wheel, I would like the emergency brake. I am not that much afraid about me getting ill or sleeping while driving (dosh, with age and the way traffic is today and all the traffic cameras and Police radars, difficult not the fall asleep like watching a bad movie), however, emergency braking I think can be useful at some point.

It seems that the 16-17MY XJ has many functional limitations. I still want to install the IPMA. LDW on the 17 MY only provides visual warnings - no sounds, no vibrations. I learned that the PSCM needs to be activated by IPMA. Since there are no documented cases of installing the 18MY instrument cluster and IPMA, I haven’t been able to find anyone who knows exactly why the A05 error occurs. I even asked Gregory from LR-SOFT, but he wasn't sure either. If a solution is found, I’m sure it would be a significant discovery. Without IPMA, only IEB can be used. IEB is different from AEB, and it’s not very helpful on its own. This is another reason why the installation of the IPMA is necessary.

I recently bought E-PACE with a faulty IPMA. Since IPMA was malfunctioning, all LKA-related features didn’t work. I installed a used IPMA and reprogrammed it with PathFinder, allowing me to use LKA. I also activated the hidden AEB. I’m hoping that by looking at the E-PACE, I might gain some insights for the XJ.

E-Pace is DoIP and Pathfinder. Is any of the XJ using it or all up to 18MY included were SDD?

Nope, all XJ(X351) using SDD only.

Hello,I have a problem with the IPMA module in my 2019 E-Pace. Using Pathfinder, I started updating the modules one by one, and after updating the powertrain, the IPMA module stopped working. It turns out that it’s not the original one. Someone replaced it earlier, and it has a different VIN. When I try to update it or perform the “replace module” procedure, Pathfinder starts the process but during the “learning CCF” step, it throws an error “out of range” message and the procedure stops. Has anyone encountered a similar issue and could possibly help?

Hi, I have had similar case. IPMA is backup storage(?) for CCF. If IPMA VIN is different from BCM VIN, an issue like this can occur. To resolve this, I downloaded ASBUILT of IPMA VIN from DSFM and modified “some values” to match my e-pace. Then I selected “IPMA Central Configuration Learn.” This should fix the problem. However, the VIN on a used IPMA will not be changed. Thanks.
