My first JAG
I'm a new forum member and just realized a dream--purchased my first JAGUAR.
It's 2012 XJL-Portfolio, red w/ ivory int. Has 7300 miles.
I look forward to reviewing your posts and in the future (soon) will be asking some questions after this automobile arrives.
Thanks.

Congrats on your new acquisition! You will enjoy driving your Jaguar. Our 2012 XJL super charged is our third Jag and we can't get the silly smiles off our faces. First word of advice - get a battery tender unless you will be driving it 24/7. Enjoy the miles!
Ironically, was in Fayetteville, NC 2 wks ago and was driving my uncle's 2011 XJL during my visit and along with his encouragement, I decided to get the JAG. Honestly though, when visiting him I intended on getting either a new VETTE, or 2011 Porsche 4s Pan....but, a JAG has been on my dream list for 30 years and at my age (65) it was time to make the move.
Oh, I have a battery tender; have only used it during the winter for my '04 Goldwing but I may invest in another one. Thanks for your advice.

A battery maintainer is a must, and be sure to always lock the doors whenever you park to shut down the electronics and minimize battery drain. For XJ installation details, see this thread: https://www.jaguarforums.com/forum/x...lation-130801/

I did acknowledge your comment and hit the thanks button. Will certainly do that in the future for other posts I have read. Will also follow your recommendation contained in the post re locking the door, and a battery maintainer.

A big congrats to you! My first Jag was a 2013 XJL for my wife. I've learned a lot from this site and am sure you will too.
Jag owners are a small community and I learned from this site to always give a thumps up or acknowledge other Jag drivers I see on the road. Most will reply back, a few don't but good stuff all in all.
Cheers,
kjamo

Kjamo: thanks for your advice and I'm sure you and your wife are enjoying the 2013 XJL. I'm hoping mine will arrive tomorrow. Can't wait to take it for a ride in the local community.
I've been scanning many of the posts on this forum and LEARNING QUITE A LOT.
Have a nice Thanksgiving
